The “monument” which is created by Ricky Swallow is statuary. There is only one material be used- concrete. Because of the only one material, the “monument” just has one color. The dark grey creates a serious and tedious atmosphere. The statuary‘s eyes are closed and let people have a depressed feeling. Moreover, the artist used the material to make the statuary dissolved in water. The water is connecting with the calm face which gives an extract effect. The construction of the “monument” is not very complicate, however, it seems want to convey some information.
